Bombu Taiko (aka Taiko for Dummies) debuted at the Higashi Honganji Buddhist Temple's annual obon festival on July 26-27, 2003, with two pieces, "Ashura" and "Bombu-bayashi." Led by Bryan Yamami and Yuta Kato, the group began in Fall 2002, with new groups of beginners starting every 8 weeks on Monday nights at Higashi Honganji Buddhist Temple. Also debuting was the kid's group, Kitsune Taiko in the red and black happi coats.
